I am Julian Lancia, an 18 year old Canadian, Italian, and German citizen.  I was born in Ethiopia where I lived for the first 10 years of my life and later moved to Malaysia to finish high-school. I started my life around horses when I was very little (around 1 year old) in Ethiopia and then fell in love with horses. The riding in Ethiopia was very informal and as I got older I just hopped on a horse and went riding around the beautiful plains that surround the capital Addis Ababa. When I moved to Malaysia I started to learn how to ride more formally and entered jumping and dressage competitions. Shortly after I got noticed by Peter Abisheganaden who invited me to intern with him at the KL Academy of Polo and taught me how to play. I now play off +1 handicap. (link to published handicap changes here) and have experience playing in tournaments across multiple countries from a 2 to 10 goal level. I am currently taking a gap year to play polo around the world before starting equine management studies in the fall of 2026.
